Currently, the minimum monthly wage stands at LTL 1,000 (EUR 290), it was last time increased in December, 2012.
Based on preliminary estimates, the state and local governments' budgets will need around LTL 5 million (EUR 1.45 million) (including social security contributions) from October to December of 2014. While in 2015, the budgets will need over LTL 20.4 million (EUR 5.9 million).
Seimas Speaker Loreta Grauziniene says that the minimum monthly wage could be raised by LTL 100 (EUR 29) next year.
Previously, Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevicius had said on the radio Ziniu Radijas that the minimum wage in 2015 could be increased following the municipal and mayor elections.
