In the first eight months of this year, budget revenues of "Sodra" amounted to a little over 6.5 billion litas, or 2.7 % more than planned and 7.6 % more than last year. 97 % of all "Sodra" incomes accounted for insurance premiums.
From January to August 2014 Lithuanian social insurance fund has spent nearly 7.4 billion litas, or 0.5 % less than planned. Thus, it emerges that the deficit of "Sodra" amounted to almost 900 million litas, that is 200 million litas less than planned, in the first eight months of this year.
However, the descending deficit of Lithuanian insurance fund is not optimistic at all, especially considering the fact that from 2008 until 2014 "Sodra" debt has increased more than thousand times - from 11 million to 11 billion litas.
