“We have succeeded in our goal of launching 53 calls this year. We are encouraging business representatives to modernise and digitalise services, develop new products, invest in innovation and renewable energy. We have also sought and found funding opportunities for calls that have attracted a lot of interest and, seeing the need to tackle climate change, we launched an additional EUR 40 million call. The priority for next year will be the implementation and results of the measures announced in this EUR 1 billion plan,” said Aušrinė Armonaitė, the Minister of the Economy and Innovation.
30 calls the value of which amounts to EUR 341.6 million have been launched in the area of innovation. 13 calls for EUR 330.3 million have been launched in the field of investments in renewable energy, and 10 calls for EUR 285.6 million have been launched in the field of digitisation of government and business.
Seeing the need to tackle climate change, this year the Ministry of the Economy and Innovation launched an additional EUR 40 million call to reduce pollution, which was planned for 2024. It invites companies to introduce energy-efficient technologies to reduce harmful carbon dioxide emissions.
The planned funding for renewable energy deployment has also been tripled, i.e. EUR 31.87 million has been allocated to 226 industrial companies instead of the planned EUR 10 million to ensure that all 226 eligible industrial projects receive the requested funding.
The plan is also aimed at targeted increased spending on research and experimental development (R&D) by business, innovation and investment. It also focused on start-ups and existing businesses.
The area of digitalisation has focused on creating and improving new and existing digital services for businesses and citizens, expanding e-services, making them more accessible to people with special needs and promoting the use of open data.
