"The development of towns and cities is strongly impacted by businesses that create new jobs, and we want to encourage entrepreneurs in the Plungė region to be active and take advantage of the financing opportunities we offer. The Ministry of Economy and Innovation is continuously contributing to the improvement of Plungė's infrastructure by creating an investment-friendly environment. Since 2020, we have already allocated more than EUR 3 million to three infrastructure projects. These include the railway branch that opens today. This project will make a significant contribution to the development of local industry and the creation of new jobs," said Minister Armonaitė.
During her visit, Minister Armonaitė will tour visit the co-working centre "Spiečius", where she will present incentives to the representatives of businesses in the Plungė region, and will discuss economic issues with entrepreneurs in the region. They will be presented with the Ministry of Economy and Innovation's EUR 1 billion plan to strengthen the Lithuanian economy, which by the end of 2023 will see calls for EUR 365 million for business innovation and investment, EUR 320 million for digitalisation of the state and businesses, and EUR 268 million for a greener economy.
In Plungė, the Minister will visit the territory of the planned industrial park, as well as the reconstructed Lentpjūvės Street and Salantų Street of the Plungė industrial district, which have received funding from the Ministry.
The Minister will also meet with municipal representatives and industrialists to discuss the planned projects, presenting an overview of the district and the industry and assessing the investment projects currently under implementation.
