"The amount of calls that have already been announced totals €596 million, and calls for another €357 million are planned. We want our businesses to be stronger as a result of these investments, so we invite businesses to actively follow the calls and apply for financial support to modernise and digitalise services, develop new products, invest in innovation and renewable energy", said Aušrinė Armonaitė, Minister of the Economy and Innovation.
As of mid-September 2022, the Ministry of the Economy and Innovation has already launched 35 calls for a total value of almost €596 million: 17 calls for €177.6 million in the field of innovation, 9 calls for €138.8 million in the field of investment in renewable energy and 9 calls for €279.6 million – in the field of digitisation of government and business.
A total of €365 million has been planned for calls between September 2022 till the end of this year for various private and public sector projects in the field of entrepreneurship, innovation and investment, €320 million for calls on digitalisation of the state and business, and €268 million for a greener economy.
The plan aims to increase business, innovation and investment spending on research and experimental development, with a strong focus on start-ups and established businesses.
In the green economy, financial support is mainly concentrated on investment projects focusing on renewable energy sources to move away from fossil fuels.
The focus in the digitisation field is on creating and improving new and existing digital services for businesses and citizens. It will expand e-services and make them more accessible to people with special needs, also promoting the use of open data.
