The World Economic Forum’s Industry Strategy Meeting in Geneva is one of the four major annual events of the international organisation. It will bring together political, business, industry and other leaders from around the world to discuss how to harness collaboration between the sectors of industry and logistics to drive digital solutions and innovation, and accelerate the transition to sustainable energy sources. Minister of Transport and Communications Marius Skuodis will take part in a discussion on the role of logistics hubs in industry transformation.
In Geneva, the Minister is also scheduled to meet with the new leadership of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU): Secretary General Doreen Bogdan-Martin and her deputy Tomas Lamanauskas, as well as Mirek Dušek, Managing Director at the World Economic Forum, also Head of Europe and Eurasia.
In addition, Minister Skuodis will make an opening speech at the event marking the 100th anniversary of Lithuania’s membership in the ITU.
The ITU, which brings together 193 Member States, ensures the distribution of radio frequency resources needed to develop radio communication, promotes the development of the advanced communication technologies by setting telecommunications standards, and provides assistance to countries in the development of telecommunications. Lithuania became a member of the ITU on 1 July 1923.
