The new Commercial Attaché is expected to help develop Lithuania's economic representation in the country, accelerate and coordinate the implementation of joint projects.
"Poland has always been and will continue to be one of our most important strategic economic partners - it is Lithuania's priority export market, third largest trading partner and one of the largest investors in our country. We hope that the appointed Commercial Attaché will help to realise those projects that will be of interest to businesses from both countries, further stimulate the attraction of investments and open the gates to the large market of our neighbouring country to Lithuanian businesses", - says Minister of the Economy and Innovation Aušrinė Armonaitė.
Prior to his appointment, Mr Pozlevičius worked as a business consultant, previously as Project and Investment Coordinator at the Kaunas Grain Group, and even earlier at the Project Management Division of the then Ministry of the Economy.
He holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the Institute of International Relations and Political Science of Vilnius University, and continued his studies at the Warsaw School of Economics and the Department of Business Management of the University of Warsaw.
"Given the current geopolitical situation, international business cooperation is more important than ever, and Poland is one of Lithuania's priority markets. I will strive to ensure that we can expand the potential of Lithuanian companies and maintain our competitive edge in the region without obstacles. I believe in dialogue between Lithuania and Poland, and by leveraging our knowledge, experience, human and material resources, we can make a significant difference in achieving our common strategic goals," said T. Pozlevičius.
The bilateral trade turnover between Lithuania and Poland in 2021 was EUR 7.3 billion, and Poland's direct investments amounted to EUR 1.74 billion, making Poland the 5th largest investor in Lithuania.
Lithuania has been steadily increasing its economic representation in the world and currently has commercial attachés in the following countries: the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Norway, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Israel, Ukraine, Japan and South Korea.
