By October this year, exports of Lithuanian-origin goods to China dropped by 81.5%, from EUR 139.3 million to EUR 25.7 million, but total exports of Lithuanian-origin goods to Singapore, Australia, South Korea and Indonesia increased by EUR 115 million to EUR 362.7 million, up by almost 47% compared to the same period last year.
"We have expanded the list of Lithuania's priority markets for exports and innovation cooperation to include, among others, Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam, while we expect more foreign direct investment from Japan and South Korea. Lithuania's economic ties with Southeast Asia and Australia will undoubtedly grow, and businesses will be able to successfully exploit the new markets and opportunities that will open up," said Aušrinė Armonaitė, Minister of the Economy and Innovation.
In January-September this year, total exports of Lithuanian goods increased by 32.1% compared to the same period in 2021.
The largest exports were to Germany (9.6%), Poland (9.1%), Latvia (8.6%), the United States (7.8%) and the Netherlands (7.3%).
Of the goods of Lithuanian origin, the most exported were mineral products (19.2%), miscellaneous manufactured goods (11.6%), chemical products (11.3%), prepared foods, non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, tobacco and processed tobacco substitutes (8%).
