"Lithuania has ambitious goals to become energy independent by 2030. Both the private and public sectors will invest in this process, and foreign businesses are welcome here. We want Lithuania to emerge stronger and more energy secure from this energy crisis in Europe caused by Russia's aggression in Ukraine," said Minister Armonaitė.
According to the Minister, the active interest of the French business in the changes taking place in Lithuania - innovation, increased cooperation between science and business, digitalisation, opening up of data - shows that Lithuania is seen as a reliable and promising place for the development of French business.
This is the third French-Lithuanian Business Forum. Over 20 Lithuanian companies, representatives of the Innovation Agency and business associations are taking part in the Forum, seeking new business contacts in France. A delegation of members of the Lithuanian public sector, led by the Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė, is also attending the Forum.
The Minister also met with the heads of financial technology companies Market Pay and Binance in Paris and discussed their expansion plans in Lithuania.
French investments in Lithuania in the second quarter of this year amounted to 711 million euros. France ranked 11th in terms of investment in Lithuania last year. More than 100 French companies are currently operating in Lithuania. Between 2010 and 2020, 9 foreign direct investment projects were implemented by French businesses.
