“The purchase of electric vehicles in Lithuania is already gaining momentum – from the beginning of 2021, their number in the country has doubled. We hope that the continuously offered incentive measures – both financial and developing infrastructure for electric vehicle charging accesses – will further encourage this trend and contribute to the development of clean, green transport in Lithuania,” said Agnė Vaiciukevičiūtė, Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications.
Compensation for the purchase of pure electric vehicles from the above-mentioned 50 million euros of the Modernisation Fund will be disbursed among residents – 35 mln euros, and legal entities and residents who will purchase an electric vehicle for economic or commercial activities – 15 mln euros. It is estimated that these funds will encourage the purchase of about 10,500 personal electric vehicles and about 3,750 electric vehicles for business purposes.

When submitting the application, residents will have to declare that they will not use these electric vehicles for economic or commercial activities.
Compensation to legal entities and residents engaged in economic or commercial activities will be provided only for the purchase of new (up to 6 months) pure electric passenger vehicles. Compensation in the amount of 4 thousand euros will be allocated for one electric vehicle.
