‘In expanding the Lithuanian map of flights, this is very important flight destination for Lithuanian business. It is one of the priority destinations, and it will be undoubtedly of relevance for the needs of Lithuanian business’, - says Julius Stačkauskas, Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications.
SWISS is the third airline in Lufthansa Group, which will operate flights from Vilnius. According to Aurimas Stikliūnas, Head of Aviation Services at Lithuanian Airports, the entry of this airline into the airspace of Lithuania is the result of the consistent implementation of the route development strategy.
‘We are happy that we continue implementing purposefully at Lithuanian Airports the objectives pursued, which resulted in another direction of regular flights from Vilnius, that we will be able to offer to passengers already next year. Demand for this flight has been constantly increasing, especially in the business travel segment. The fact that we managed to successfully complete negotiation with SWISS proves once again that business travel does not cease to exist and, conversely, the need for such travel is growing again‘, – says A. Stikliūnas.
Until now, SWISS has not operated regular direct flights to Vilnius. The air travel to Zurich, which will be launched at the end of March, will allow the development of business relations and will open new markets for investors.
