‘This memorandum opens the doors to diversifying supply chains and to more favourable conditions for Lithuania to purchase goods and services originated or manufactured in the U.S. This will undoubtedly give a new impetus to increased Lithuanian-US economic and trade cooperation and will equally address the deficiency of goods and services,’ said Vice-Minister of the Economy and Innovation Jovita Neliupšienė after signing the memorandum in Washington.
Cooperation with EXIM will enable businesses exporting goods and services originated or manufactured in the USA to benefit from the bank’s medium- and long-term guarantees or loans of up to USD 600 million.
Vice-Minister Neliupšienė is visiting the U.S. together with Minister of Foreign Affairs Gabrielius Landsbergis. During the visit, opportunities to expand and deepen mutually beneficial economic relations were discussed, especially by opening the US market to Lithuanian goods and developing joint investment projects in the sectors of lasers, semiconductors, biotechnology and renewable energy.
