This is the first time the national stand of Lithuania is being exhibited at this global car exhibition. 8 engineering industry companies of our country are introducing themselves in the stand organised by Enterprise Lithuania.
“We clearly understand that the age of fossil fuel and cars that depend on it is coming to an end. Greening of the sector, smart mobility technologies, railway and road transport electrification, micro mobility, etc. – this is a continuing list of challenges that we must overcome and offer solutions and possibilities. I am proud that Lithuanian companies are strengthening their position in the global car map, they are reliable and visible among those that are taking on mobility challenges,” said Minister Skuodis at the opening of the Lithuanian stand.
According to the Minister, the European Union Recovery and Resilience Facility is a timely measure to promote the necessary transport innovations by replacing the current mobility systems with future-oriented ones.
“The decisions are not easy, but they are necessary. 5G, self-driving cars, vehicles powered by electricity and other alternative fuels, promoting the development of motorless transport, open data, Rail Baltica, greening of all means of transport – such is the response of Lithuania to the upcoming changes,” said the Minister of Transport and Communications.
During the exhibition, M. Skuodis will be participating in bilateral meetings with world-class companies, such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Continental, Huyndai, Ford, Porshe, Audi, etc. He will discuss with their representatives the innovations they are presenting and the possibilities of implementing them in the Lithuanian market as widely as possible, the investment environment in Lithuania and the possibilities offered by the Lithuanian engineering industry companies.
At the exhibition, a meeting between the Lithuanian Minister of Transport and Communications Marius Skuodis and the German Federal Minister of Transport Andreas Scheuer is also scheduled.
This year, the annual IAA Mobility exhibition is being held in Munich for the first time. Many international transport industry and investigation companies have gathered here to present their latest products and innovative solutions in the transport sector. At the exhibition, significant focus is placed on presenting and reviewing the technologies and concepts of electric cars and other climate-friendly means of transport.
