The main task of the Attaché for Monetary and Banking Affairs is an active cooperation with other institutions of the Republic of Lithuania in forming Lithuania’s position and representing it in the European Union (EU) agenda and legislative process, as well as maintenance and expansion of relations with the EU institutions, representatives of other national central banks in Brussels and Permanent Representations of the EU Member States.
Agnė Dirmeikienė completed law studies at Vilnius University and obtained a Master’s degree, studied financial market regulation at the London School of Economics and Political Science as well as political science and international relations at the University of York. She is also a graduate of the European Academy of Diplomacy in Warsaw.
For the past two years, Agnė Dirmeikienė worked at the Secretariat of the President of the ECB Christine Lagarde and was the Secretary of the General Board of the European Systemic Risk Board, its highest-level decision-making body.
