Over the month, mining and quarrying and manufacturing production increased by 4.6%, seasonally adjusted – by 1.2%, manufacturing – 4.6%, seasonally adjusted – 1.3%.
In May 2014, against April, the largest increase in production was observed for the manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations (23.9%), fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment (17.8%), computer, electronic and optical products (13.7%), leather and related products (12.9%), wearing apparel (9.6%) and refined petroleum products (7.2%).
Over the month, decrease in production was observed for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (23.2%), manufacture of other transport equipment (19.3%), water collection, treatment and supply (7.4%), manufacture of motor vehicles, trailer and semi-trailers (4.7%).
In May 2014, against May 2013, industrial production increased by 8.1% at constant prices, working day adjusted – 10.1%. Over the year, mining and quarrying and manufacturing production increased by 9%, working day adjusted – by 11.4%, of which manufacturing production increased by 9.1%, working day adjusted – by 11.4%.
In January–May 2014, industrial production totalled LTL 27.6 billion at current prices; compared to the same period of 2013, it decreased by 3% at constant prices, working day adjusted – 2.3%. Over the said period, mining and quarrying and manufacturing production decreased by 1.2%, working day adjusted – by 0.2%, of which manufacturing production decreased by 1.3%, working day adjusted – by 0.3%.
In January–May 2014, compared to January–May 2013, the proportion of mining and quarrying and manufacturing sales and services on the non-Lithuanian market dropped by 3.9 percentage points and made up 64.7%, on the Lithuanian market – grew by 3.9 percentage points and made up 35.3%.
In January–May 2014, compared to January–May 2013, the value of sales and services of industrial enterprises on the non-Lithuanian market dropped by 10.8% at current prices. It was influenced by a decrease in sales of refined petroleum products (by 36.7%), chemicals and chemical products (by 12.5%). The value of sales and services on the non-Lithuanian market, refined petroleum products excluded, increased by 4.6% at current prices. It was influenced by an increase in the output of sales of enterprises engaged in the manufacture of rubber and plastic products (30.4%), furniture (17.1%), food products (6.9%).
Over the period in question, the value of mining and quarrying and manufacturing sales and services on the Lithuanian market grew by 6.5% at current prices, refined petroleum products excluded – by 8.7%.
