The company, which belongs to Polish concern PKN Orlen since 2006, sustains millionth losses and press on Lithuania to rescue it at the expense of taxpayers and enterprise-owned companies; however, it fails to provide any proofs if the losses sustained are real.
For several month Poles keep making new demands for the Lithuanian Government and state enterprise Lietuvos Gelezinkeliai (Lithuanian Railways), while they reluctantly consider or even reject the proposals they receive.
Not long time ago Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevicius regretted the fact that the company was delaying to sign a contract with the customer found by the Government. If the contract is signed, Lietuvos Gelezinkeliai proposes to temporarily reduce transportation rates to 16.4 percent and to consider dropping the claim of LTL 9 million (EUR 2.6 million). However, there is a silence from ORLEN Lietuva.
