The representatives of Lithuania met with Sophia Chan, Under Secretary for Food and Health in Hong Kong, and officers from the Centre for Food Safety, which coordinates the import procedures of products of plant and animal origin.
"We have learned that the import procedure from third countries is fundamentally different from the one existing in China, while the procedure for imports of products of animal origin is simpler and shorter," said Dalia Miniataite, the head of the Lithuanian delegation.
During the meeting the officers of Hong Kong informed that Lithuanian producers, who wanted to export food products to Hong Kong, should cooperate with importers registered in Hong Kong, who would assist in receiving the necessary import permits.
