On Friday, the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Lithuania and the Ministry of Roads and Transportation of Mongolia signed the memorandum of understanding aiming to enhance cooperation in transportation and logistics, support and promote investments, share technologies, information and experience.
"Lithuania devotes a lot of attention to connect the trans-European transport network with the neighbouring countries. One of the main connections is the transport link between the East and the West. We are interested in Mongolia's container train project the Mongolian Vector. Lithuania would like to partner and extend the route to Klaipeda Seaport and the Polish border," said Deputy Minister Vladislav Kondratovic, who signed the memorandum.
According to the deputy minister, it is hoped that Lithuania's container train project the Viking, which links Minsk with Vilnius and Klaipeda or Minsk with Vilnius, Sestokai and Mockava, could partner with the Mongolian Vector.
