Klaipedos Nafta, the operator of the terminal in the Brazilian port of Acu, says it plans to become the most desirable partner for the development and operation of new LNG import terminals by 2030.
"The goal is to get into the TOP-3 of companies operating floating import terminals. And in terms of figures, by 2030. Besides Acu, we also want to have four similar terminals and be stakeholders in at least four terminals," Darius Silenskis, CEO at Klaipedos Nafta, told.
Klaipedos Nafta on Thursday presented in more detail its endorsed new strategy, announced in February, and it includes plans to invest 140 mln euros into the expanding market of LNG import terminals over the next decade.
Citing commercial secrecy reasons, Silenskis did not identify the companies Klaipedos Nafta is holding negotiations on the operation of new LNG terminals.
Klaipedos Nafta announced in February it had won the tender to operate the LNG terminal in Acu with partners. It was reported then that the terminal would start operation in 2020 with the first gas-fueled power plant.
