Russia's discount supermarket chain Svetofor, which operates in EU countries under the Mere band, has launched its first Lithuanian store in Kaunas, with plans to open 40 stores in Lithuania in 2020. The no-frills discount chain has over 1,500 stores in Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus and China, and is now expanding into the EU after opening its first stores in Germany and Romania last year.
