From now on, over 300,000 Revolut clients in Lithuania will be able to use bank accounts covered by the state-owned Deposit and Investment Insurance Fund.
Revolut Bank's immediate plans include offering consumer loans and credit cards, and expanding its banking services to other European countries in the summer.
Revolut Junior, an app that allows children aged between seven and 17 years to open accounts, is to be made available to Lithuanian customers soon.
The Revolut Group was issued with the banking license by the European Central Bank, on the Bank of Lithuania's recommendation, in late December 2018. Virgilijus Mirkes, a professional with 25 years' experience in the financial sector, was appointed Revolut Bank's CEO in June 2019.
Revolut has over 9 million worldwide, including about 300,000 in Lithuania.
