"Liquefied gas price in the global market is known approximately. I am pleased that Litgas agreed with Statoil on liquefied gas supply for five years to Klaipeda terminal at a lower price compared with the average liquefied natural gas price in the global market," said Butkevicius.
The prime minister did not go into detail whether the price is higher or lower than Gazprom's.
"For us it is paramount to ensure energy security which we will have achieved late this year, to diversify gas market and have another supplier, this facilitates our striving for the set goals and results during negotiations," Butkevicius said.
