Until now, postal parcels from China to Europe were mostly shipped by air.
The 42-container train arrived in Vilnius' intermodal terminal early on Sunday, the state postal operator said.
It said more than 260 tons of parcels would be shipped from Vilnius to 30 European countries. Most of them were to go to Germany, Britain, France, Spain and Hungary. Two of the containers were intended for Lithuanian customers.
According to LP, more such postal trains from China are expected in the near future.
