It was expected to receive LTL 7.046 billion (EUR 2.040 billion) in revenue.
In January-April the state budget was projected to receive LTL 5.824 billion (EUR 1.686 billion) in revenue. Actual amount was LTL 5.770 billion (EUR 1.671 billion) or by 0.9%, LTL 54 million (EUR 15.6 million), less than projected, but by 5% more year-on-year.
Projections of tax revenue collected to the state budget were met at 97.7%, LTL 5.342 billion (EUR 1.547 billion) was received, i.e. by LTL 124 million (EUR 35.9 million) less than expected.
In the first four months of 2014, the most revenue, LTL 3.264 billion (EUR 945 million), was received from VAT. However, it was by LTL 213 million (EUR 61.6 million) less than projected.
According to Minister of Finance Rimantas Sadzius, the total state budget is negative due to insufficient VAT tax collections, although revenue from other taxes meets and exceeds projections.
Nonetheless, compared to the same period in 2013, this year 12.3% more VAT was collected, or by LTL 357 million (EUR 103.4 million) more.
In January-April, LTL 1.084 billion (EUR 313 million) was received from excise taxes. By 10.7% or LTL 105 million (EUR 30.4 million) more year-on-year, and by LTL 53 million (EUR 15.3 million) more than projected.
Revenue from income tax in January-April was LTL 298 million (EUR 86.3 million), by 12.8% or LTL 34 million (EUR 9.8 million) more year-on-year, and by LTL 3 million (EUR 868 thousand) more than expected.
Revenue from personal income tax in the state and municipal budgets amounted to LTL 1.406 billion (EUR 407 million) in the discussed period. By 10.4% or LTL 133 million (EUR 38.5 million) more year-on-year and by LTL 103 million (EUR 29.8 million) more than projected.
Confirmed budgetary revenue from tax for 2014 (excluding the EU funds) stood at LTL 18.661 billion (EUR 5.404 billion), whereas with the EU funds stood at LTL 26.093 billion (EUR 7.557 billion).
