Lithuania is in a similar situation – 74% of residents are planning to change their jobs in the coming six months, 18% do not intend to do it, but 8% have not thought about it.
Cvmarket marketing manager Inga Daliba said that the Latvian and Lithuanian poll results are very similar because the economies of both countries are developing at a similar pace.
"This is one the reasons why people are starting to think about finding a new job or changing their work environment because they are beginning to notice their potential in other fields as well. Though the percentage of Latvian and Lithuanian residents who wish to find a new job is large, there is no reason to think that a large number of people will start to work in new jobs all of a sudden. At the same time, employers should not neglect these statistics. An assessment of employees and their accomplishments should probably be carried out," Daliba said.
When asked how many jobs they have had, 24% of Latvian respondents said they have worked in two, 22% said – more than five jobs. 18% of respondents said they have had three jobs, but 14% – four and five.
The majority of Lithuanians (34%) said they have worked in more than five jobs, 22% – in three, 13% – in four and five, but 12% said they have had two jobs.
67% of Latvian residents admitted that their wish to change their jobs was due to their salary, 27% said their salary was a factor, but 6% said their salary had nothing to do with their wish to find another job.
The poll was carried out from April 7 to April 22, surveying more than 1,000 respondents online.
