Exports of goods of Lithuanian origin amounted to LTL 3.6 billion. The foreign trade deficit of Lithuania amounted to LTL 0.8 billion.
The increase in exports was influenced by an increase in exports of fertilisers (47.5%) and cereals (38.6%). The increase in imports was influenced by a 22.4% increase in imports of boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances, parts thereof, 24% – crude oil. Mineral products excluded, exports increased by 9.9, imports – by 14.5%. Exports of goods of Lithuanian origin decreased by 0.3%, mineral products excluded – increased by 7.7%. Exports to Russia increased by 5.6%, exports of goods of Lithuanian origin – dropped by 7.9%. The decrease in exports of goods of Lithuanian origin to Russia was influenced by a 27.5% decrease in exports of dairy products.
In March 2014, against March 2013, exports decreased by 12.2, imports – by 2.8%. The decrease in exports was influenced by a decrease in exports of petroleum products (54.5%), ground vehicles (34.7%) and fertilisers (17.8%). The decrease in imports was influenced by a decrease in imports of crude oil (31.9%) and ground vehicles (21.5%). Mineral products excluded, exports and imports increased by 1.4 and 8.7% respectively. Exports of goods of Lithuanian origin decreased by 23, mineral products excluded – by 3.6%. Exports to Russia decreased by 8%, exports of goods of Lithuanian origin – by 23.3%.
In January–March 2014, against January–March 2013, exports decreased by 10.5, imports – by 7.2%. The decrease in exports was influenced by a decrease in exports of petroleum products (47.8%), ground vehicles (25.5%) and fertilisers (24.4%). The decrease in imports was influenced by a decrease in imports of crude oil (43.6%) and ground vehicles (11.8%). Mineral products excluded, exports and imports increased by 2.6 and 8.6% respectively. Exports of goods of Lithuanian origin decreased by 20.4, mineral products excluded – by 2%. Exports to Russia decreased by 1%, exports of goods of Lithuanian origin – by 3%; meanwhile, exports of dairy products of Lithuanian origin grew by 6%. Exports to Ukraine decreased by 19.5%, exports of goods of Lithuanian origin – by 24.3%.
In January–March 2014, the most important Lithuania's partners in exports were Russia (19.8%), Latvia (9.9%), Germany (8.3%), and Poland (7.6%), in imports – Russia (22.6%), Germany (10.3%), Poland (9.7%), and Latvia (6.5%). Most of the goods of Lithuanian origin were exported to Germany (10.9%), Latvia (8.9%), the United Kingdom (7.5%), and the United States (7.2%).
In January–March 2014, the largest share in Lithuania's exports and imports fell within mineral products (16 and 25.2% respectively), machinery and mechanical appliances, electrical equipment (12.9 and 14.4%), products of the chemical or allied industries (9.7 and 11.5%). As for the goods of Lithuanian origin, the largest share in exports fell within mineral products (23.2%), miscellaneous manufactured articles (10.7%), live animals and animal products (8.6%), and plastics and articles thereof (7.9%).
