In the beginning of 2014, German companies operating in Baltic countries were optimistic. Due to the stable and good economic condition in the region and favourable development prospects, companies expected an increase in turnover and exports in 2014.
"Positive assessments of German businessmen reflect improving sentiments in entire Europe; however, the fact that Lithuania is assessed exceptionally well is a very great assessment for improving investment climate in Lithuania. The feedback of foreign investors already operating in the country is of utmost importance for every new investor. Therefore, I have no doubt that such commentaries of German businessmen will encourage more German companies to take interest in opportunities in Lithuania," Minister of Economy Evaldas Gustas commented on the results of the poll.
Germans, who have invested in Lithuania, are mores satisfied with the economic situation of their companies: only a half of companies, which have invested in Latvia and Estonia, regard the economic situation of their companies as good, while in Lithuania even 72% of German companies regard their economic situation as good.
