The net portfolio investment inflows in February built up because of a greater decline in foreign assets than in liabilities. In February and January-February 2013, the net flows of portfolio investment inflows stood at 1.5 billion litas and 1.4 billion litas, respectively.
The net outflow of other investment and financial derivatives from Lithuania amounted to 714.2 million litas in February and 1.3 billion litas in January–February 2014 (in these months in 2013, inflows of this investment were recorded, they stood respectively at 115.8 million litas and 274.3 million litas).
The outflow of this investment in February stemmed from Lithuanian residents' investment in foreign assets and, in January-February 2014, a decline in their liabilities in addition.
