Despite it, many companies believe that the membership in the euro area would bring benefits to their business, a survey conducted by Danske Bank reveals.
According to the survey, 20% of businessmen are convinced that the euro should have been introduced earlier, 27% believe that it is necessary to adopt the euro in 2015, meanwhile, 26% support the euro, yet think that there is no need to hurry its introduction.
25% of those polled does not support the euro, half of them believe that the euro should not be introduced in the coming years; while the other half believe that the euro is not necessary at all.
Based on the data of the survey, Lithuanian companies are in different stages of preparations. Some will begin preparations only when the final decision on the adoption of the euro will be made, other companies believe that they will not need separate preparation for the euro. Some of the companies are already prepared, are preparing at the moment or plan to begin it. Some enterprises have admitted they did not know how they should prepare for the euro changeover.
Meanwhile, 37% of heads of companies are certain that their business will benefit from the euro adoption, 34% of those polled believe that it will not affect the results of their businesses, while 20% think that the euro introduction will have potential adverse impact on the results of their businesses.
