"Investment in green innovations is one of the measures to optimize production processes, to effectively use raw materials and energy, and to reduce environmental pollution. Therefore, companies which invest in ecologic solutions today will undoubtedly have a competitive advantage in the future," says Deputy Minister of Economy Marius Skarupskas.
According to the deputy minister, in order to enable more companies to use the support its requirements were slightly altered. Applicants are not be required to have a business partner from Norway. Nonetheless, when allocating support priority will be granted to bilateral projects as one of the goals of the implementation of the Green Industry Innovation Programme is to promote Lithuanian-Norwegian cooperation.
Under the proposal, support will be granted to activities in accordance with the Partnership Project Scheme related as with development and implementation of new environmental protection technologies as with modernization of the existing ones in order to reduce their impact on environment and increase efficiency of consumption of natural resources.
For one project a company is entitled to receive support ranging from LTL 691 thousand (EUR 200 thousand) to LTL 3.5 million (EUR 1 million). Companies will be compensated up to 60 percent of the project cost. Applicants may implement projects together with partners – Lithuanian or Norwegian companies, research and education institutions, associations or clusters.
Applications are to be submitted to the Central Project Management Agency by 1 June 2014.
