The lowest annual inflation was registered in Portugal – 0.1%, followed by Lithuania and Sweden – 0.2% each, the Czech Republic, Ireland and Spain – 0.3% each, and Croatia – 0.4%.
Consumer prices in Slovakia remained unchanged in January. Deflation was recorded in Cyprus – 1.6%, Greece – 1.4%, and Bulgaria – 1.3%.
The highest annual inflation was registered in Finland and Great Britain – 1.9% each, Estonia – 1.6%, Austria and Luxembourg – 1.5% each.
Compared to December 2013, annual inflation reduced in 17 countries, remained unchanged in seven and rose in four countries.
Annual inflation in the euro area remained unchanged and was 0.8% in January. Annual inflation in the EU reduced to 0.9%.
Compared to the previous month, consumer prices in the euro area reduced 1.1% in January, in the EU – 0.9%.
Monthly inflation in Latvia rose 0.7% in January, in Estonia – 0.2%. Monthly inflation in Lithuanian did not change.
