"It's coming from Gdansk, will unload, then it will be loaded and will continue its journey. (…) It’s the largest ship capable of sailing in the Baltic Sea," Dovile Ringis, spokeswoman for the Klaipeda State Seaport Authority, told on Tuesday.
MSC Ingy is longer than the 336-meter-long MSC Topaz which arrived in Klaipeda in July or the 363-meter-long MSC Francesca which moored in Klaipeda in June.
Klaipeda has been receiving larger ships lately due to improved infrastructure and tax regulations, Ringis noted.
In early November, the Lithuanian government endorsed the Transport Ministry's proposal to cut fees for larger container ships.
