According to the paper, it may be announced early next month that HCL Technologies, an Indian IT services company present in Vilnius since 2016, is taking over Barclays' Lithuanian operations.
HCL Technologies would reportedly offer the unit's staff to stay in their jobs under the current conditions, except that they would no longer be Barclays' employees.
"The worldwide review of operations is still ongoing and, as we have already mentioned, this process may have an effect on our business in Lithuania," Mariano Andrade Gonzalez, country manager at Barclays Group Operations Lithuania, told Verslo Zinios in a comment on Thursday.
"Various options are being considered, but no final decisions have been made yet," he added.
