"The opportunity to fly direct between Stockholm and Hamburg with SAS is good news for the business people in Lithuania. We expect this route to become a popular business destination as both Hamburg and German market in general is very important for us. On weekdays our passengers from Lithuania will be offered convenient connections between Vilnius and Hamburg, and on weekends they will be able to connect via Copenhagen," said Ruta Juciene, SAS General Manager Baltic States.
On weekdays SAS airplanes will take off from Vilnius to Hamburg via Stockholm at 11:40 and 18:20, and accordingly from Hamburg to Vilnius at 10:55 and 17:40. The route between Stockholm and Hamburg will be operated by a Boeing 737-600 with the capacity for 120 passengers and a Boeing 717 with the capacity for 115 passengers.
Germany is a large market for SAS, and the airline has several daily direct departures from Stockholm Arlanda to the three German destinations of Frankfurt, Dusseldorf and Berlin. In total, SAS operates around 500 flights a week between Scandinavia and Germany.
In 2014 SAS is launching more than 40 new European routes from Stockholm, Copenhagen and Oslo in order to further improve the customer offering with additional connections to in-demand destinations.
