"Evaluating the last year's data on incoming and outgoing money orders, we can state that Lithuania Post has demonstrated the strongest growth in this market. More and more residents choose Lithuania Post to send money," Head of Financial Services Department Neringa Knyvienė said.
According to Mrs Knyvienė, impulse for growth has been given by the new network of PayPost outlets established to render financial services. Today the network consists of 180 outlets.
In 2013, the largest volumes of money orders came from Great Britain, the United States of America, Russia, Ireland, Germany, and Norway. Despite the fact that Great Britain generates the largest flows of money orders received in Lithuania, the average amount of a money order is the smallest, if compared with other countries, and makes 465 litas. The average amount of a money order sent from the USA is 865 litas, from Russia – LTL1300, Ireland – LTL600, Germany – LTL800, Norway – LTL1250.
The main flows of money orders sent from Lithuania go to Russia, Great Britain, Ukraine, Belarus, Germany, and the USA. The largest average amount making LTL1300 is usually sent to the USA. The average amount sent to Russia makes LTL740, to Great Britain – LTL760, Ukraine – LTL570, Belarus – LTL400, Germany – LTL960.
