According to the President, the Presidency of the EU Council was an exceptional task for the country and one of the biggest challenges within a period of 20 years. Grybauskaite highlighted that, due to the economic situation, the Lithuania's Presidency was very cost-conscious. As a result, the voluntary support of the sponsors was very important while showing off the Lithuanian guests the best what we had, so that they would come to Lithuania one more time.
According to Grybauskaite, the results of the Presidency demonstrated that the country managed to achieve more that it expected. Lithuania was perfectly evaluated by the EU leaders, the members of the European Parliament (EP) and international organizations. The close cooperation of the non-governmental organizations, business and the public sector during the Presidency demonstrated the maturity of the community and the responsibility for Lithuania's success.
