Such a proposal was made by Member of the Seimas Arturas Paulauskas who believed that the current provision of the law did not encourage to manage and to monitor the abandoned buildings also known "ghosts" and to end the reconstruction of them.
"There is no need to pay taxes on the actually completed and the newly developed real estate projects (). The investigation revealed that 197 out of 314 unfinished buildings were not used," said the member of the Seimas.
64 members of the Seimas supported the initiate, 2 members of the Seimas was against it and 11 – abstained.
