Over the month (April, against March), exports decreased by 13.4, imports – 10.5%. The decrease in exports was influenced by a decrease in exports of petroleum products (49.1%), machinery and mechanical appliances, parts thereof (11.3%), furniture (8.4%). The decrease in imports was determined by a decrease in imports of crude petroleum (57%), machinery and mechanical appliances, parts thereof (9.2%), ground vehicles (4.8%). Mineral products excluded, exports decreased by 8.8, imports – 4.4%. Exports of goods of Lithuanian origin decreased by 16.8%, mineral products excluded – 10.3%.
Over the year (April 2018, against April 2017), exports increased by 4.4, imports – 1.1%. The increase in exports was influenced by an increase in exports of furniture (22.7%), miscellaneous chemical products (66.1%), tobacco and manufactured tobacco substitutes (41.3%). The increase in imports was determined by an increase in imports of ground vehicles (27.1%), iron and steel (39%). Mineral products excluded, exports increased by 9.6, imports – 6.9%. Exports of goods of Lithuanian origin increased by 3.6%, mineral products excluded – 11.2%.
In January–April 2018, against the same period of 2017, exports and imports increased by 6.4 and 6.6% respectively. The increase in exports was determined by an increase in exports of electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof (14.2%), miscellaneous chemical products (65%), furniture (12.3%). The increase in imports was determined by an increase in imports of ground vehicles (18.6%), crude petroleum (14.4%) (amount in tonnes decreased by 5.7%), machinery and mechanical appliances, parts thereof (6.7%). Mineral products excluded, exports increased by 9, imports – 6.7%. Exports of goods of Lithuanian origin increased by 6.6%, mineral products excluded – 8.7%.
In January–April 2018, the most important Lithuania’s partners in exports were Russia (13.6%), Latvia (9.4%), Poland (8.2%) and Germany (7.6%), while in imports – Russia (13.4%), Germany (12.7%), Poland (11.5%) and Latvia (7.2%). Most of the goods of Lithuanian origin were exported to Germany (9.6%), Poland (8.9%), the United States (8.9%), Sweden (7.5%) and Latvia (6.6%).
In January–April 2018, the largest share in Lithuania’s exports and imports fell within mineral products (12.6 and 19.7% respectively), machinery and mechanical appliances, electrical equipment (15.5 and 17.5% respectively) and products of the chemical and allied industries (11.4 and 11.9% respectively). As for the goods of Lithuanian origin, the largest share in exports fell within petroleum products (17.6%), miscellaneous manufactured articles (12.3%), prepared foodstuffs, beverages, spirits and tobacco (9.1%), products of the chemical and allied industries (8.7%).
