The numbers provided by the Seimas Chancellery reveal that from now MPs will receive additionally two minimum wages to their salary. It should be not forgotten that MPs as state politicians also receive supplements for the length of service in the civil service which might vary from few hundreds to almost few thousands of litas.
In addition, MPs receive a payment equal to average monthly salary – LTL 2,253 (EUR 653) – to cover parliamentary expenses.
In January the increase in salary will be mostly felt by Parliament Speaker, Chair of the Labour Party Loreta Grauziniene. She will additionally receive LTL 2,400 (EUR 695), and from now her salary before taxes will amount to LTL 11,610 (EUR 3,362).
Deputy Parliament Speaker Vydas Gedvilas will be able to enjoy an increase of LTL 2,170 (EUR 628) in his salary which will from now amount to LTL 10,440 (EUR 3,023).
Salaries for the rest of deputy parliament speakers will increase by LTL 2,095 (EUR 607), they will receive salaries of LTL 10,080 (EUR 2,919). The smallest increase of LTL 1,800 (EUR 521) will be in the salaries of common MPs. From now they will receive LTL 8,730 (EUR 2,528).
