The incomes of the state in 2014 will amount to 26 093 million litas, while expenses – to 27 033 million litas, making the deficit of 940 million litas.
Parliamentary faction of the Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania (EAPL) supported the budget project with one voice. 81 deputies voted for approval of the project, 32 – against, and 14 - abstained.
'The adjusted project would provide 25 million litas to increase remunerations for employees of culture and art sectors from 1st July 2014. The EAPL faction already supported the increase of remunerations for the employees of culture and art sectors and for librarians, because they were forgotten and their salaries were not increased even at the period of a good economic situation,' said Rita Tamašunienė, the chairwoman of the parliamentary faction of EAPL.
'Moreover, it is extremely important that municipal governments will be able to improve the state of roads, as the funding of local roads will increase from 20 to 25% next year and up to 30% in 2015 because of the initiative of EAPL,' stated R. Tamašunienė.
The chairwoman of the parliamentary EAPL faction underlined that financial outlook is positive so there is a hope for surplus in budget, which in the first instance, according to R. Tamašunienė, should be directed to repay a part of unpaid pensions, thus, should be used for a group that is the most threatened by social exclusion – seniors.
R. Tamašunienė has underlined that approved budget contains as well 11 million litas for the economic sector for supplementary national payment and a grant directed to municipal governments of 8 million litas for targeted land improvement.
'It is a satisfaction to note as well the fact the budget income is increasing. We forecast that funds will be disposed in a rational way. The budget for 2014 assumes not only meeting the basic needs of the public sector but we are also noting positive changes, even if small, but for the better,' stressed the chairwoman of the parliamentary faction of EAPL.
