"In the plans for the nearest years to come, we can see Lithuania Post as one of the strongest logistics companies in Lithuania. To achieve the goals set, we must renew and modernize our logistics centres. Only well-organized logistics will enable us to meet the customers' needs and offer item delivery services of the highest quality", CEO of Lithuania Post Lina Minderiene said.
According to Mrs Minderiene, the former Lithuania Post's mail sorting facilities established in the seaport town did not meet the expectations and quality requirements of nowadays; therefore, it was decided to search for new facilities.
The new facilities are tailored for considerably faster and simpler delivery and sorting of items of different sizes. A more convenient location of the centre and a special device tailored to the needs of Lithuania Post will ensure better access for trucks and smaller vehicles used to transport items of various sizes.
Up to date, the mail sorting centre of Lithuania Post conducted operations at Priestocio Street. The centre established at Mainu Street is larger in size and occupies 555 sq.m. The facilities are rented.
The new logistics centre will also sort items delivered by Baltic Post, the subsidiary company of Lithuania Post. Sorting of items in common premises will enable to save costs, to organize common logistics and works more smoothly.
