The European Commission is to present the adopted Annual Growth Survey (AGS) 2014, setting out the Commission's view of the European economic and social policy priorities in boosting growth and creating jobs. Ministers will also examine the Roadmap on the implementation of the 2014 European Semester. The AGS and the Roadmap for the European Semester 2014 opens the way for the fourth cycle of EU economic policy coordination, the beginning of which this year is organised by the Lithuanian Presidency of the EU Council together with the incoming Greek Presidency.
Ministers will also start preparing the European Council meeting of December 19–20 and approve the draft annotated agenda. It will feature thematic debates on the EU's economic policy priorities for 2014, the deepening of the Economic and Monetary Union, the EU's Common Security and Defence Policy, energy, enlargement, and migration.
Minister Linkevičius will present the Presidency report on the implementation of the European Council conclusions and the results of the Fourth Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region that took place on November 11–12 in Vilnius.
The European Commission will also present to the ministers its Work Programme for 2014.
