In 2007-2008 – LTL 16 million (EUR 4.6 million) and in 2009-2012 – LTL 66 millions (EUR 19.1 million).
In 2004-2006, Belarus was not among the top-10 export partners of Lithuania, while in 2009 it was ranked on the sixth to eighth place.
The factors attracting the investors are the size of the neighbouring market, the potential of the long-lasting growth and the accessibility of the stock.
However, often an investor along with an unattractive political climate Belarus, deters macroeconomic instability. For example, in 2011 the Belarusian ruble was devalued twice by more than 30%.
It is believed that the economic crisis was also one of the factors which raised the attractiveness of the neighbouring country.
The balance of trade between Lithuania and Belarus is positive , this means that exports exceed imports. So the competitiveness of Lithuanian export devaluation would affect negatively, although the high inflation in Belarus reaching 15% " toned down" the situation.
