"Ahlstrom-Munksjo plans to change the structure of client service and financial operations, which involves closing the service centers in Vilnius and Atlanta, US. The decision was taken in an effort to adapt to decentralized mode of operation, reduce the number of remote bureaus and make more efficient use of infrastructure. The decision will have a direct impact on about 100 Ahlstrom-Munksjo's employees," Ahlstrom Lietuva a said in a comment.
"The company has always valued the performance of the Vilnius team and continues to think so. Closure of the Vilnius center has to do exclusively with planned restructuring of services. The decision has nothing to do with Lithuania's investment environment or availability of labor force," reads the comment.
Ahstrom Vilnius started operations in Lithuania in October of 2014.
