Over the year, the gross value added per person employed amounted to EUR 25 558. At constant prices, in 2016, compared to 2015, the gross value added per person employed increased by 0.4%.
In 2016, the highest labour productivity – EUR 35 per hour actually worked – was recorded in real estate enterprises. Labour productivity was also high in information and communication (EUR 24), financial and insurance (EUR 20.8) enterprises. The lowest labour productivity – EUR 5.6 – was observed in enterprises engaged in agriculture, forestry and fishing. Labour productivity was low in enterprises engaged in arts, entertainment and recreation, repair of household goods and other activities (EUR 7.5), public administration and defence, education, human health and social work (EUR 9).
Eurostat publishes the labour productivity indices calculated based on the values of the gross value added, estimated using a chain-linking method, per hour actually worked per person employed, compared to the period of 2010.
