Lithuania records 13% growth in H1 cargo volumes

Lithuania's overall cargo volumes grew by 13% in the first half of 2017 from a year earlier to 66.857 million tons, the country's statistics office said. First-half road cargo traffic increased by 20.9% to 39.1 million tons and rail freight volumes were up by 4.6% to 24.5 million tons. Maritime cargo volumes decreased by 1.9% to 2.9 million tons. Lithuanian air carriers handled 200 tons of cargo and mail, down 12.1% year-on-year.
