Over a year, an increase in labour costs per hour worked, calendar adjusted, was observed in all economic activities, the largest – in information and telecommunication (14%), professional, scientific and technical activities (12.7%), wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycle (12.6%), arts, entertainment and recreation (12.1%).
In II quarter 2017, against the same quarter of 2016, labour costs per hour worked, calendar adjusted, was determined by increased minimum monthly wage (since 1 July 2016, to EUR 380), increased salary of employees of personal health care establishments, increased salary of employees of educational establishments (since 1 September) and public service employees of certain lowest categories (since 1 January 2017), increased severance pay, volume of work and other reasons.
Over a year, calendar adjusted, gross earnings and remuneration in kind per hour worked increased in all economic activities. The largest increase was observed in information and communication (13.3%), wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycle (12.5%), arts, entertainment and recreation (11.7%), professional, scientific and technical activities (11.7%).
In II quarter 2017, against the respective quarter of 2016, an increase in other labour costs, calendar adjusted, was observed in all economic activities, except water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities (decreased by 1%). The largest increase in other labour costs per hour worked was observed for information and communication (15.7%), professional, scientific and technical activities (15.6%), arts, entertainment and recreation (13.5%), and education (13.5%).
More rapid increase in other labour costs, compared to gross earnings and remuneration in kind, was influenced by increased severance pay and compensations in certain activities, and other reasons.
The largest increase in labour costs over a quarter, seasonally and calendar adjusted, was observed in enterprises engaged in information and communication (5.7%), wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycle (4.6%), financial and insurance activities (3.9%), real estate activities (3.8%), while in accommodation and food service enterprises – decreased by 2%.
