Over the month (June 2017, against May), exports increased by 0.1, imports – decreased by 6.1%. The increase in exports was influenced by an increase in exports of petroleum products (12.3%), edible fruit and nuts (42.1%), and knitted or crocheted articles of apparel and clothing accessories (51%). The decrease in imports was influenced by a decrease in imports of crude petroleum (26.8%), ground vehicles (12.9%), and machinery and mechanical appliances and parts thereof (5.7%). Mineral products excluded, exports decreased by 1.5, imports – by 2.8%. Exports of goods of Lithuanian origin increased by 1.7, mineral products excluded – decreased by 2.2%.
Over the year (June 2017, against June 2016), exports increased by 22.7, imports – by 12.6%. The increase in exports was influenced by an increase in exports of electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof (54.9%), machinery and mechanical appliances and parts thereof (35.8%), and ground vehicles (57.1%). The increase in imports was conditioned by an increase in imports of electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof (30%), machinery and mechanical appliances and parts thereof (17.7%), and ground vehicles (10.9%). Mineral products excluded, exports increased by 26.2, imports – by 17.2%. Exports of goods of Lithuanian origin increased by 17.6, mineral products excluded – by 17.4%.
In January–June 2017, against the same period of 2016, exports and imports increased by 17.7 and 16.6% respectively. The increase in exports was conditioned by an increase in exports of petroleum products (28.8%) (the amount in tonnes decreased by 7.4%), machinery and mechanical appliances and parts thereof (28.2%), and electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof (26.5%). The increase in imports was influenced by an increase in imports of crude petroleum (69.6%) (the amount in tonnes increased by 7.2%), machinery and mechanical appliances and parts thereof (16.9%), and ground vehicles (16.8%). Mineral products excluded, exports increased by 16, imports – by 13.2%. Exports of goods of Lithuanian origin increased by 16.1, mineral products excluded – by 11.1%.
In January–June 2017, the most important Lithuania’s partners in exports were Russia (13.8%), Latvia (9.9%), Poland (8.5%), and Germany (7.3%), in imports – Russia (12.8%), Germany (12.2%), Poland (10.6%), and Latvia (7.1%). Most of the goods of Lithuanian origin were exported to Germany (9.5%), Poland (9.1%), United States (8.3%), Sweden (7.7%) and Latvia (7.4%).
In January–June 2017, the largest share in Lithuania’s exports and imports fell within mineral products (14.6 and 19.6% respectively), machinery and mechanical appliances, electrical equipment (15.8 and 18% respectively), and products of the chemical and allied industries (10.3 and 11.9% respectively). As for the goods of Lithuanian origin, the largest share in exports fell within petroleum products (19.6%), miscellaneous manufactured articles (11.7%), prepared foodstuffs, beverages, spirits and tobacco (9%), and plastics and articles thereof (7.7%).
