Lidl Lithuania posts EUR 166 mln in revenue in 2016

German-owned retailer Lidl Lietuva, which opened its first stores across Lithuania in June of 2016, posted 166 million euros in revenue (not including VAT) in the past financial year. The company said that it incurred a loss of 18 million euros in the financial year that opens in March and ends the following February, however, views it as an investment with long-term returns. The first 15 Lidl stores in Lithuania were opened at the beginning of June of 2016. The company currently operates 30 stores in 15 cities of Lithuania. Lidl Lietuva is fully owned by Germany's CE Beteiligungs.
