"One of the deputy ministers of economy will go to China at the end of this month and will discuss the opening of an office in Shanghai (...) with a possibility to warehouse the products," he told the Lithuanian Radio on Tuesday.
A. Butkevičius said, that Russia's market was profitable but dairy companies should look for new markets.
He also add "We also believe that another market should open up, which is Brazil. And we are also working closely with the United States of America and have already signed the agreements. We hope to obtain permits for larger exports to that country in the near time,"
Prime Minister explained: "Exports are beneficial for our dairy processors since profitability in Russia is the largest now. Yet, we need to understand that we have to have several markets, each manager shall have several markets, or the markets should be diversified,"
Lithuania hopes that China will give a license required for exports of dairy products and new export possibilities will open up for companies which lost Russian market.
